Nuclear Power Party of NY (NNY)

Powering America with policy

Our vision is a nuclear powered America. Clean, safe, and brimming with potential. While other renewables are welcome, coal and gas are not. This political party is coming to a state near you.

Party Issues

  1. More nuclear power
    • That's it.
    • From generation II to generation IV and beyond. No hot button issues or "gotchas."

How we'll get there:

  • Streamline the regulatory process to reflect modern reactors.
  • Build approximately 567 new reactors across the U.S.
  • Create standardized plans for a handful of power plants and reactors.
  • Supplemental power from geothermal can be used to fill the gaps of future production and provide non-coal, non-gas power to nuclear resistant communities, but our focus is nuclear power.

How we'll pay for it:

  • Revenue backed bonds
    • Investors buy bonds to support the new reactor.
    • Bond purchase is paid back by selling electricity.
  • Reduce current spending.
    • Stop oil, coal, and gas subsidies estimated at $20.5 billion per year:
      • End Oil and Gas Tax Subsidies Act of 2025
      • Executive Order 14008, "Tackling the Climate Crisis at Home and Abroad"
  • Let corporations fund their own reactors
  • Close tax loopholes.
    • Carried interest (income) taxed as capital gains costs the American people about $18 billion each year. That's enough to build at least one (and up to three) new power plants.
  • Reduce other federal expenditures
    • Annually, the government spends about $60 billion dollars on federal housing assistance for 5.4 million households. To build 5.4 million permanent low cost ($10k-$30k each) apartments would cost approximately $180 billion and be a one time payment. These apartments can be amortized with mortgages, paid for up front, and/or paid for with revenue backed bonds. The savings are enough to build 6-10 new power plants every year.
